Named with French's "brothers" Sir Thomas Sackville, John White, William White, John Weeks, Samuel Fuller, and their wives as a protector in French's minor children.

Possible?

1641 July 2 - John Shorter, son of John Shorter, baker of Staynes MDX apprenticed to James Sherley, master of Goldsmith Company, East India and Eastland Companies (also William Shorter s/o of same in 1644) Is he the elder James Sherley of Clapham?

1656 June 18 John Sherley 'and free of the East India and Eastland Companies' son of James Sherley Citizen and Goldsmith of London, apprenticed for 8 years to James Sherley, Goldsmith and overseas merchant. (same or different James?)

1671 [?sic] John Butcher granted freedom by servitude by his master James Sherley of the Goldsmith's Company This suggests not James Sherley of Clapham, it's too late
