Daughters Grace, Jane, and Margaret inherited the rest. Jane married Alexander Drummond, surveyer of stamps and taxes. Margaret married John Marshall Burr, baker of Lauriston Glasgow

2(iii). William Shirley born 21 Apr 1810 Glasgow, Lanark to William Shirley and Jean Ronald; Not named in his father's estate. Possibly died young.

2(iv). Gilbert Auchinvole Shirley chr 24 Aug 1812 Glasgow, Lanark to William Shirley and Jean Ronald; Inherited 1/3 of his father's estate at Wellgate, Lanark as well as the entire stock and trade of his ironmonger business.
