Isaac Foster b 1719 St. Stephen Parish Northumberland Co. VA married Sarah Hughes ca 1752 in Prince William. Sarah was d/o Edward Hughes and Elizabeth Grigsby. (Edw. and Eliz. were m. in 1734 Stafford Co. VA.).

Isaac Foster and some children moved to Nicholas W(VA). Don't  know of any to SC. ___________________________

A Thomas Foster was listed in the 1765 tythable household of Isaac Foster in PW. A Thomas Foster was listed in the Broad Run (PW) Church minutes "added by   Baptism Aug 1774 and was "dismiss't South 1783". Sarah Foster admitted to Broad Run at the same time as Eliz Grubbs, May 1776. Also "dismiss't South 1783"

The Shirley family members added about the same time to Broad Run Church. 

A Thomas Foster and Sarah Foster (sister of Ambrose Foster) were the charter   members of Turkey Creek Baptist Church 1786 with Thomas Shirley of Prince William (also dismissed South from Broad Run)and others from Broad Run.  Ambrose Foster was added shortly thereafter to the rolls.

A William Foster was the one who "recommends" John Shirley on Daniel Paynes store ledger.

A Thomas Foster (Broad Run Church minutes and Charter member of Turkey Creek in SC with Thomas Shirley) was tythed in the household of Isaac Foster in Pr. William 1765 list in the same area as William and John Shirley Sr. You will find an Isaac below...

Most of the following is accepted info on the Fosters.

William Foster b ca 1668 probably Northumberland VA. He married   Elizabeth Hannah Payne (widow?) on May 08, 1710 Northumberland. He died before 1767/1768 Prince William VA. Hannah Payne b 1690 Westmoreland VA. Their children born Northumberland or Prince William include: Isaac, Robert, Elizabeth, George, William(b Jul 15 1714). Their spouse surnames include: Hughes, Haley, Cornwell, Grigsby and Foster. The   family seems to be located near many Hughes and Grigsby's.

A John Oldham died in Northumberland Co. VA in 1753, mentions wife Jane and "land which I bought of Daniel Shirley". Witnessed by Benjamin Foster and Eliz. Foster.

Benjamin Foster died in Northumberland Co. VA in 1760. Administration to Robert Clark Jr. who involved in John Shirley will of 1738 and John Shirley Jr. will of 1742 in Northumberland Co. VA.

Edward Hughes 1715 in Northumberland Co. VA m. Eliz. Grigsby and moved to Prince William Co. VA. Their daughter, Sarah Hughes m. Isaac Foster. Thomas Hughes m. Nellie Foster, Edward Hughes Jr. married Nancy Foster. These Fosters are brother and sister of the William Foster who "recommends" John Shirley for an account at Paynes Store in Prince William Co. VA.
