  John Reaves of Northumberland, father of Martha Reaves who was the wife of Daniel Shirley IS connected to George Reaves of Prince William. Martha and George Reaves are brother and sister (SEE BELOW) A George Reaves was tythable next door to John Shirley Sr in 1765 Prince William County VA.

John Rives b. 1665 in Surry co. VA m. Grace ?  Only two children known:

 George Reeves b. 1695. took out in 1732 his first land grant  from Lord Fairfax in Northumberland, VA. He deeded land to his bro.  John. He m. Ann d/o Rev. Benjamin Doggett, Minister of ST Stephen's  Parish in Lancaster Co. VA. They made deeds of gift to their ch.  naming the following:

a. Thomas b. 1719

b. Benjamin b. 1721 m. Sarah Wright then Sibbell

c. George Rives, Jr m. Mary (Eppes?) - no further info on this George

d. John Rives prob died young

e. Moses Rives

f. Asa b. 1739 m. Sarah , W.P. 1823 in KY

g. Elizabeth Rives m. ? Haggard
