A true and just inventory and appraisment of the personal estate of Nat Shiirley of color deceased was produced to us by George Shirley his administrator this 29th day of December 1869.

Branch 84: John W. Shirley born about 1825 in Kentucky. African-American ancestry living Metcalf Co KY. This lineage includes the famous opera tenor George Irving Shirley

Branch 87: John Shirley born about 1825; slave of George F. Adams of St Mary's County Maryland; Emancipated May 20 1864; father and mother born Maryland (1880 census); farmer of Mechanicsville MD; May be related to Jetson Shirley also enumerated in the slaveholdings of George Adams; Grandson Marcus Patterson age 17 living with John in 1900 census.

Branch 88: Marion Taylor Barnes Shirley - b. May 1, 1907  Hart County Georgia, d. 1963; Marion was the son of Minnie Harris Craft, the daughter of Elisha Harris of Hart Co Georgia and his wife Mary (Mae).

Branch 94. Turner Shirley born about 1830 in VA, possibly Madison Co VA. African-American family living in Broad Run, Loudoun Co Virginia

Branch 95. Charles Shirley born about 1815 in Pennsylvania. He and his family appear as free mulatto/black in 1850 Lancaster Co and 1860 Chester Co PA census. Descendants lived in West Chester Township, Chester Co PA

Branch 96. Barnaby Shirley born about 1810 in Virginia. African-American family living at Orange Courthouse PO, Orange Co VA in 1870

Branch 107. African American Shirley Families of Franklin Co GA. Several heads of these families are documented as slaves in the estate record of Richard Shirley of Hart Co GA (Branch 4). Many descendants moved to Colorado Co Texas
