Hi there.
To answer your question, there is no evidence of any Shirleys in Spain at any time that I am aware. There are expat British Shirleys in Lisbon in the mid-1700s. That's it.
Shirley is not a spanish name of any derivation of which I am aware. It does have Germanic derivations such as Scherle, Scheurlie, Shally and so forth.
Again, Michael's DNA profile matches those of Valentine Shally/Shirley so he's more than likely German.
