Hi Jerry,
I'm descended from Thomas Jefferson Shirley, who we think was born in N.C. around 1807 & came to San Joaquin Co., CA in 1852. I've done a lot of newspaper research in the Stockton area, but haven't been able to access the 1855 papers, as yet. I was wondering if you had an obit for Tryphena. I have posted an obit request to the Norcal & San Joaquin Rootsweb mailing lists for her and will let you know what I hear, but if you already have it, that won't be necessary.
