1671 [?sic] John Butcher granted freedom by servitude by
his master James Sherley of the Goldsmith's Company This
suggests not James Sherley of Clapham, it's too late

Visitation of London as daughter of John Sherley. Nothing
more known.
Evidence points to this being the correct Elizabeth Sherley
who m. Elphick (e.g. Surrey deed for her father involved with
similar people). Eliz. Elphick's daugther Mary Elphick dies in
1652 names "aunt Sherley" indicating her mother is
also a Shirley. Then Elizabeth dies in 1661:

Richard Glydd was a goldsmith of London. The Glydd family were
also of Pendhill Sussex, location of the Holman family)

Company. He was granted his freedom 'by patrimony' by his father
John Sherley in 1649.
