William Dawkes of Verina in the corporation of Charles City, planter, lease of 50 acres in Charles City on west side of the land granted him in 1632 and adjoining the land of Thomas Parker. April 12, 1633 by Harvey. Another note: It appears from this and other patents that this "neck of land" was in Varina Neck now, Henrico. (this was written in 1895 and appeared in one of the issues of the Virginia Magazine). _______________________________ William Dawkes was the son and heir apparent of Henry Dawkes, deceased: 200 acres in Charles City on a creek called 2 Mile Creek and adjoining the land of Thomas Parker. Due 100 acres for the personal adventure of the said Henry Dawkes, an ancient planter, and 100 for a bill of adventure of $12pounds.10 (shillings?) in right of his father, Henry Dawkes, deceased.
