		Throckmorton family from Clowerwell, Gloucester Co England from VA. Colonial Abstracts Series 2 Vol 3, The Virginia Company of London 1607-24  Wm. Throckmorton was sheriff of Gloucester Co. England. 1.  Sir Thomas Throckmorton (1). Sir Thomas Throckmorton who married Eliz. Berkeley, [aunt of Richard Berkeley]. A.  Elizabeth  married Sir Thomas Dale, Governor of VA. (2) Ann Throckmorton married Sir Thomas Tracy.  A. Sir John Tracey married Mary Sherley, daughter of Sir Thomas Sherley, the elder. B.  Wm. Tracy married Mary Conway. They sailed from Bristol England to Berkeley Hundred in Virginia in 1620. ___________________________ Elizabeth Throckmorton married Sir Ralter Raleigh. He was involved with the Earl of Essex in the battle of Cadiz in Spain in 1596. (sent by Ken Scislaw).
