1936 Oct 9 - Obituary - RAILROAD MAN IS DEAD - Charles H Shirley 73 (b 1863) resident of Grand Rapids 45 years and a veteran of the PA RR died friday at his home 734 Watson St SW. Shirley was born in Sacramento Calif and came to Michigan 52 years ago (1884) to enter the employ of the G.R.I. RR. He continued in the employ of the line after it became a part of the PA system. he was a member of the PA RR veterans association. He leaves the widow, Mrs Anna M Shirley; a sister, Mrs William FitzGerald; a niece, Mrs Leon Harrington and four nephews, Edward, Zeff, Winfield and Arthur FitzGerald. Funeral services are to be held at 230 monday at Alt's chapel (Death cert names his parents Wiliam C Shirley and Anna Oglesby)
