In 1850, Unity was enumerated with 9 slaves; She died 6 Sep 1869; The administrator's bond on her estate was filed 3 Jan 1870 by son James R. Shirley and co-signed by son Norfleet and son-in-law T.A Lovelace; She is buried Zion Baptist Cemetery, Haywood Co TN. (see her tombstone image on right)
