machinist's mate US Navy; He apparently lived for a time about
1930 in Milford Worcester Co Massachusetts where his son Thomas
William Shirley was born, or possibly where his wife lived at
time of birth while husband was away (?). He died on 3 March
1997 at Litchfield Montgomery Co IL, buried at Roselawn Cemetery,

rural Sorento died Monday at St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield.

Massachusetts and grew up on a farm with his father Ralph Shirley.
Thomas’ mother died giving birth to his sister and his father
remarried to a mentally crazed woman who tried to kill him.
