Daniel Shirley born August 1, 1825, died November 23, 1890 Rayville, MO m Sallie Ann Mayes March 24, 1853. She was born January 16, 1832, died July 5, 1900 Rayville, Mo. Sallie was the daughter of Sherrod and Frances (Davis) Mayes. Daniel and Sallie are buried at Crowley cemetery in Rayville, MO
Daniel Shirley was appointed Justice of the Peace in and for Leslie Township in the county of Carroll in pursuance of an election held in said township on the 3rd day of April 1877. He was appointed Postmaster of Rayville, Missouri on January 10, 1889.
