William Shirley born about
1788-90 (long claimed by researchers to have been born at
Cropredy (near Banbury), Oxfordshire), This Shirley family
lived in the Village of Shottery, near Stratford Upon Avon. Possibly
the William Shirley of Cropredy who is part of this Oxfordshire
Shirley lineage
Caution: I looked for the evidence
linking the above William Shirley of Warwickshire with Cropredy
Oxfordshire - Other than a "William" being christened
in Cropredy about the right age, I'm not seeing the direct link
(as yet)
A John Shirley of the same age as
William Shirley also resided at Hampton Lucy Warwickshire as
did William (mar. Eliza Malin) shown in the this family below.
John lived into the 1860s and his 1861 census lists his birthplace
as Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestershire (adj Warw.). There is a
very old Shirley family residing in Moreton. Thus, Cropredy Oxfordshire
may be wrong.

Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire England. She was born 1795/6
Old Stratford, Warwickshire.

16 August 1888 and is buried Stratford Upon Avon cemetery. They
lived in the Village of Shottery, Warwickshire.
married Mary Blakeman on 31 March 1840 Alcester, Warwickshire.
She was born 1818 North Littleton, Worcester (1851 census). She
died 24 Sept 1890 and was buried same cemetery.

born in 1836 as she was was 5 yrs old in 1841 census), age 10
in 1851 census. She died 10 January 1910, buried Feckenham, Worcestershire.
She married James Bradshaw and they lived Dagtail End.
2(ii). Sarah Shirley chr 12 February 1843 at Old Stratford
Warw, age 8 in 1851 census. She married George Ashfield 12 Oct
1861 Holy Trinity Church Stratford Upon Avon. Parents of
7 children.

Warw, age 6 in 1851 census
2(iv). George Shirley chr 18 April 1847, age 4 in 1851
census. He died 17 June 1919 buried Tardebigge Church,
married Mary Jane Salmons on 9 November1868 at Coughton,
Warwickshire
