		This family branch lived in Indiana and Armstrong Co. PA in the early 1800's. The family lineage long posted here has recently (2010) been supplemented by the excellent published family history by Carol Hopping found at the BYU Family History Archive 1(iv). Robert R. Shirley born 1777, Bucks County, Penn  Robert R. SHIRLEY married Elizabeth about 1806 It is recorded in the deed books of Armstrong County that on March 18, 1817, Robert Shirley and his wife Elizabeth purchased a tract of land situated at the head waters of Long Run, Armstrong County, Kiskiminetas Township, from Daniel STANARD, who had bought the land at sheriff sale on December 18, 1814 and 1817.
